This *blockbuster* blend of 62% Sauvignon Blanc and 38% Semillon has absolutely amazing texture, with superb lemon butter, crushed rock, quince and marmalade notes buttressed by hints of orange zest and citrus oil. Château La Mission Haut-brion:
When the wine is young, the initial sensation is its unctuousness, the softness of a very ripe grape, the freshness of aromas and at the same time the texture of very special tanins. These meld with a trace of mineral in the wine. It is as if the land was in the glass, comprising notes of roasted coffee beans, cocoa and tobacco. This delicate bitterness is somewhat reminiscent of crystallized cherry-stones seeped in spirit. It is certainly a penchant for revealing all its qualities at once that distinguishes the wines of La Mission and pleases a lot of tasters. It is also the consummate expression of the land of the Graves of Pessac. When maturing, this wine is still generous, openly proffering all its qualities. This hedonistic side is one of its most attractive particularities. Read less

Such a generous and ripe wine with a dark core of tannins surrounded by opulent fruit. Black fruits coffee very concentrated flavors a powerhouse of structure and richness. The warmth of the wine is palpable as is the aging potential. R.V. Wine Enthusiast.

What a gorgeous nose of ripe dark fruits such as bramble berries blueberries and currants with hints of orange flowers. This is so tight and focused with laser-guided tannins. It starts very slowly and then builds and builds and builds on the palate. Currants and blackberries galore yet a tangy firm and creamy textured tannin structure. Racy muscular structure. Try in 2021. James Suckling.

47% Merlot 47% Cabernet Sauvignon 6% Cabernet Franc. 14.7% alcohol which is the highest on record (previous high was 14.2% in 2005). A deep brooding wine of tremendous structure and complexity. Aromas of Santa Rosa plum and crushed blackberry mix with damp wood smoked meat and black licorice to form a stunning nose. The tannins coat the mouth but are surprisingly soft for such a young wine. I lingered over this for some time and look forward to tasting it again on release. Alex Shaw.

Bright deep ruby. Brooding complex cabernet sauvignon-dominated nose of uncommon depth offering notes of cassis cigar box minerals cedar and dry herbs. Extremely pure and fresh with massive but still totally unevolved flavors of blackcurrant dark plum and minerals. I love this wine s impeccable balance and smooth tactile finish. A monumental La Mission with outstanding persistence. Stephen Tanzers IWC.
