An extraordinary nose of plum, blueberry, raspberry, crushed rock, and that intriguing floral as well as unsmoked cigar tobacco note (a classic sign of this terroir) is followed by a wine of creamy unctuosity reminiscent of 1989, but there is a freshness, vibrancy and precision that is historic and possibly unprecedented. Some graphite emerges as the wine sits in the glass, but the wine is very thick while at the same time precise and elegant. This is the quintessential expression of one of the greatest wine terroirs of the world.

46% Merlot 40% Cabernet Sauvignon 14% Cabernet Franc. 14.3% alcohol the highest on record for this chateau surpassing the 14% from 2005. This wine is elegance incarnate. Floral aromas of roses and lilacs mix with notes of bing cherry crushed raspberry and summer plum with just a hint of pencil shavings and cigar box to darken the overall nose. The tannins are prominent but do not overwhelm the fruit on the palate which fills the mouth like liquid velvet. The tannins provide what felt like minutes of complexity on the long creamy finish. Winemaker's Notes:

This *blockbuster* blend of 62% Sauvignon Blanc and 38% Semillon has absolutely amazing texture, with superb lemon butter, crushed rock, quince and marmalade notes buttressed by hints of orange zest and citrus oil. Rich and full-bodied, with a *sensational fragrance*, this is an exquisite, full-throttle white to drink over the next 30+ years. *Utterly profound*!" --Robert Parker*Robert Parker rated: 98+ pts.*
