Château La Mission Haut-brion:
When the wine is young, the initial sensation is its unctuousness, the softness of a very ripe grape, the freshness of aromas and at the same time the texture of very special tanins. These meld with a trace of mineral in the wine. It is as if the land was in the glass, comprising notes of roasted coffee beans, cocoa and tobacco. This delicate bitterness is somewhat reminiscent of crystallized cherry-stones seeped in spirit. It is certainly a penchant for revealing all its qualities at once that distinguishes the wines of La Mission and pleases a lot of tasters. It is also the consummate expression of the land of the Graves of Pessac. When maturing, this wine is still generous, openly proffering all its qualities. This hedonistic side is one of its most attractive particularities. Read less

Black currants and smoked chilies on the nose with some toast, gravel and floral notes – fairly big and ripe in the mouth with a bright, precise feel, tannins are firm but very unobtrusive, excellent length and purity on the finish with long red fruit tones and slightly herbaceous/chili echoes (91-92)

Good full medium red-ruby. Complex nose melds black raspberry, licorice, tobacco and hot rocks there's a suggestion of almost candied ripeness here. Then ripe, sweet and full, with a lush texture and considerable density to the plum and cherry flavor... Stephen Tanzer. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2007 Haut Brion 750ml

A brilliant effort, the 2007 Haut-Brion offers up aromas of crushed rocks, graphite, plum sauce, raspberries, and black cherries. The aromatics are truly complex for a three year-old wine. While the wine does not possess the fat and succulence of its nearby neighbor, La Mission Haut-Brion, its elegance, finesse, and nobility are apparent. Medium-bodied, rich, and intense with stunning aromatics, it can be drunk now or cellared for 15 years.

Aromen von roten Früchten, feine Holznoten. Im Gaumen voll, grosszügig, intensiv, kräftig, komplex und elegant, zarte Tannine, ausgeglichen.

Bright ruby-red. Pure but youthfully inexpressive nose hints at raspberry and tobacco after extended aeration. Sweet suave and pliant with a silky texture perked up by minerality and lifted by a spicy component. Really lovely consistent ripeness here showing neither roasted nor green qualities. Took on a more floral character with air. This superbly elegant wine really saturates the palate and lingers. Tannins are fine and sweet. Stephen Tanzers IWC.

43% Merlot 44% Cabernet Sauvignon 13% Cabernet Franc. The color is dark inky purple almost opaque. The fruit is black berry and plum framed in mocha and caramelized toffee nougat. The palate is medium to full bodied with a beautiful attack of bright and pure red and black fruits with a hint of mocha chocolate framed in by well integrated tannins. I put this one at the top of my list for the vintage of First Growths along with Chateau Latour. Fat mid-palate and richness with plus concentration
