Chateau la Louviere Pessac-Leognan 2014

Member Review by duncan 906:

I bought this botte of wine from the website www.bidforwine.co.uk/auctions/show/130750 for £15.It is from the Pessac-Leognan appellation which was created in 1987 out of what had been the northern part of the Graves appellation and is very close to the southern part of the City of Bordeaux.Chateau la Louviere is a well established producer here and is owned by Andre Lurton who played a leading role in establishing the new appellation. My bottle consists of 70% cabernet sauvignon and 30% merlot and the wine spent 12 months in oak barrels. I started the bottle last night with my supper of quiche lorraine and salad. It is very fresh and fruity [think blackcurrant, black cherry and bramble] and also very smooth and mellow although there is plenty of structure. In short.this is an easy drinking but first class wine that would pair with many foods
