Château la Lagune Red Bordeaux Blend Haut-Médoc 2010
"Another great success from proprietress Caroline Frey, the 2010 La Lagune provides an essential drinking experience, with notes of Asian plum sauce, mulberries, kirsch liqueur and black currants. The wine also exhibits a savory, rich smokiness and subtle lead pencil shaving notes. Full-bodied and pure, combining both elegance and power, this is a brilliant, very approachable effort that should hit its stride in 5-7 years and last for at least two decades. Think of it as a hypothetical blend of the 2005 and 2009. Kudos!" *-Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (94 Points)*

Editorial Reviews for Château la Lagune Red Bordeaux Blend Haut-Médoc
Smoky, oaky, and deeply aromatic showing some smoldering herbal and faint black currant complexity. Open on entry, and while not terribly complex, this is fresh and bright with gently austere tannins. Showing a bit of nuance on the backend, then finishing with great freshness and purity of fruit, this is lovely. Not an imposing wine but seductive. 90pts
Green tobacco, green peppercorn, fine oak, slightly jammy red currant/red raspberry fruit – smooth in the mouth but flat with a veneer of fruit over toasty oak, quite mocha/coffee toned, a bit hard and ungenerous (85-86)
Four and a half glasses
Dark fruit, pepper, clove, oak and smoke on the nose with robust blackberry, dark cherry, vanilla cream, black pepper and a hint of mint on the palate. The finish is sweetish and long. This needs to breath and was best after an hour or so in the decanter. This wine is well put together and is best with food but sipped well.
This is my go to everyday red. Consistant quality for a great price. Only problem is I am on the east coast and need to buy direct from the winery.
Smoky nose with hints of anise. Sweet currant and black fruit on the palate. Some of the anise from the nose too. A very strong effort from La Lagune.

What a lovely texture to the wine with super soft and supple tannins and blackberry and currant character. Round and juicy. One of the softest and most supple 2010s. It tastes more like a 2009 in style. 50% Cabernet Sauvignon 40% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. James Suckling.
This is tangy with red currant roasted mesquite sanguine and tobacco notes. Already shows range and definition with solid grip. -J.M. Wine Spectator.
A blend of 55% Merlot 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot the La Lagune already has an expressive bouquet with ripe blackberry bilberry cedar and tobacco with good clarity and brightness. The palate is simple classic Cabernet with lovely savoury-tinged black fruits good acidity very harmonious and natural towards the finish. Reserved but great length and persistency in the mouth this is a great great La Lagune. Neal Martins Wine Journal.
