The estate is located in the commune of Soussac, in the heart of Entre-Deux-Mers (between « two seas » actually rivers), on the high plateau of the range that divides waters between the Dordogne and the Garonne, covering 100 hectares (approxiatively 220 acres). Eighty-five hectares are dedicated to vineyard,since inception, the estate has adopted a balanced approach to viticulture, avoiding the use of chemicals wherever possible. Entre-Deux-Mers is the largest region in Bordeaux. It is a countryside of picturesque hills and plateaus. The diversity of favorable soils, predominantely clay-limestone, makes it ideal to murture wisely selected grape varieties The estate is divided between white varietals that produce its Bordeaux Blanc Sec and its world renowned Entre-Deux-Mers and red varietals that produce its Bordeaux Superieur. The allocation is : White : semillon, sauvignon, muscadelle Red : Merlot noir, cabenet sauvignon, bouchet Median age of the wines : 25 years for the white, 45 years for the reds. One third of the vines are white varietals and two third are red. The estate maintains a winemaking capacity of 10 000 hectoliters. The wines are bottled at the Château. Read less
