Editorial Reviews for Château Haut-Brion Red Bordeaux Blend Pessac-Léognan
A classic expression of tobacco and gravel over a very deep core of ripe, dark fruit greats the nose, Spicy and with a hint of camphor, a seductive nose. Opulent, ripe and chewy upon entry, zest and lively with lots of soft, ripe tannins, the fruit remains very crisp though continues to add layers, the long finish just echoes the flavors of the midpalte. While still very young this has the balance and intensity to age impeccably.
User Reviews for Château Haut-Brion Red Bordeaux Blend Pessac-Léognan
Add your reviewDark ruby colour. I have tasted this wine along the other four 1st great growth and Haut-Brion seems rounder with more vanilla extract. On the palate it is lightly spicy and presents flavours of balckberries, dark cherry and toasted wood. The acidity is still high but well integrated with the fruits. The wine posses great balance with soft tannins and lingering finish. QC http://www.questionofwine.blogspot.com

Complex aromas of blackberries, tobacco and cedar follow through to a full-bodied palate, with ripe, velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. Very beautiful. Best after 2009.
Complex aromas of black licorice, tobacco and cedar with red fruits. Full-bodied, with superseductive, silky tannins, loads of fruit and a finish that lasts for minutes. A beauty in all the sense of the word. Best after 2012.
96 Points - Wine Advocate "This wine has been brilliant on every occasion I have tasted it More accessible and forward than the 1996, it possesses a saturated ruby/purple color, as well as a beautiful, knock-out set of aromatics, consisting of black fruits, vanillin, spice, and wood-fire smoke Multidimensional and rich, with layers of ripe fruit, and beautifully integrated tannin and acidity, this medium to full-bodied wine is a graceful, seamless, exceptional Haut-Brion that should drink surprisingly well young Anticipated maturity: 2000-2030" -Robert Parker, 94 Points - Wine Spectator "A splendid Haut-Brion with wonderful elegance Refined tannins Dark-colored, with beautiful ripe berry, cherry and very smoky nuances Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, plush texture on the finish Best after 2001" (JS)
A splendid Haut-Brion with wonderful elegance. Refined tannins. Dark-colored, with beautiful ripe berry, cherry and very smoky nuances. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, plush texture on the finish. Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 1995 Haut Brion 1500ml
A splendid Haut-Brion with wonderful elegance. Refines tannins. Dark-colored, with beautiful ripe berry, cherry and very smoky nuances. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, plush texture on the finish. Best after 2001.
An Haut-Brion with lots of finesse. Beautiful tobacco, berry, cedar and plum aromas in this one. Full-bodied, yet very fine and reserved, with silky tannins and a medium finish. I still prefer the 1998 HB, but this is very, very fine indeed. Best after 2010.
