Quite herbaceous on the nose with spicy, floral top notes over toasty, graphite base – nice fruit up front then tuns lean on the mid-palate, tannins are drying giving this a rough, rustic feel, closes up on the short finish. (83-84)

Nice rich cherry-red color with a wonderful blueberry, fruit blossom and graphite nose. Entry is a bit lean with stringent tannins still in evidence - a not entirely pleasurable sensation on the palate, unfortunately. More structure than most 2007 wines of this pedigree and provenance, but needs another 18 months to round out (2012). Rating is therefore somewhat provisional; once youthful vigor eases this wine may be a greater pleasure to drink.
