Château Haut-Bergey Red Bordeaux Blend Pessac-Léognan 2011
Quite herbaceous on the nose with spicy, floral top notes over toasty, graphite base – nice fruit up front then tuns lean on the mid-palate, tannins are drying giving this a rough, rustic feel, closes up on the short finish. (83-84)Add winemaker's notes

This edition of Haut-Bergey is a very pleasant surprise:it has a mild nose of red currants, plum and blackberry that evokes parfum, while on the palate the soft tannin is already dissipating with elegant licks of plum and blackberry on a moderately long finish. Drinking nicely now, it might last another 4-5 years. But why wait? 90 points.
Destined to be a classic. Drinks well now, but shows a lot of potential down the stretch--imagining this wine in 5-10 years is pure pleasure.
Interesting metallic "rusty pipe" in the nose, and a dry, spicy, alcohol and something akin to witch hazel on the palette... there is an allure to this wine, but I think it needs more time.

Nice rich cherry-red color with a wonderful blueberry, fruit blossom and graphite nose. Entry is a bit lean with stringent tannins still in evidence - a not entirely pleasurable sensation on the palate, unfortunately. More structure than most 2007 wines of this pedigree and provenance, but needs another 18 months to round out (2012). Rating is therefore somewhat provisional; once youthful vigor eases this wine may be a greater pleasure to drink.

Showy style with lots of ganache and dark toast leading the way backed by ample plum sauce fig paste and currant confiture notes. Long charcoal-framed finish has plenty of heft. Not shy in style this has density and drive. J.M. Wine Spectator.

This is filling out nicely, with rich, straw-framed white peach, verbena, meringue and blanched almond notes. The long, creamy, smoke-tinged finish is very alluring.-J.M. Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blanc wine from Bordeaux in France. 2011 Haut Bergey Blanc 750ml

Offers lush fruit with dark raspberry and boysenberry notes good graphite-laced structure and bright acidity weaving throughout. The long smoldering finish features an appealing licorice snap and violet profile. Best from 2015 through 2025. -JM Wine Spectator.
