Château Haut-Bergey Red Bordeaux Blend Pessac-Léognan 2006
91 points Robert Parker: Consistently one of the top, under-the-radar wines of Pessac-Leognan, Haut-Bergey's beautiful 2006 boasts a deep ruby/purple hue as well as a classic bouquet of hot rocks intermixed with graphite, cassis, incense, and charcoal. Medium to full-bodied with noticeable but sweet tannin, impressive purity, and an alluring texture, it is relatively evolved for a 2006, so consumption over the next 15 years is recommended. (Feb 2009)
An appealing lemon-oil color in the glass with excellent body and viscosity (possibly a bit fat) judging by the legs forming on the sides of the glass. Typical grass, citrus and meadow herb on the nose - though slow to open. A liberal showing of Semillion characteristics - weeds, freshly mown lawn and peach cordial. A few sharper flavors of citrus which bespeak of Sauvignon Blanc in the blend. A most satisfying wine of medium finish which could benefit from 2-3 more years of cellaring at below 12 degrees Celsius. Recommended.
The 2006 Haut-Bergey is a suave wine of great purity with typical cassis, Virginia cigarette ash and lead pencil on mid-palate. Gorgeous blood-red color with excellent glycerol-like viscosity. Very approachable with soft tannins although capable of several years of prudent cellaring. The wine may open up a bit in 2-3 years. You might consider buying a case of this one.

Dark purple core with a thick fuchsia rim. Violet and blueberry aromas with sweet tea and hints of clay. Fairly tannic from the front palate on through the finish. The fruit is lush, yet medium bodied. Mike Supple. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2006 Haut Bergey 1500ml
Aromas of mineral berries and green coffee bean. Full-bodied with chewy tannins and an impressive fruit finish. A little more in the center palate would make this outstanding. Well-made for the vintage. Best after 2011. 9 165 cases made. -JS Wine Spectator.
