The Cabernet based Graves has all the opulence and ripeness characteristic of a great vintage. The nose gives aromas of currant and black cherry fruit along with smoky charcoal and earth. Though it's drinking well now, three years in the cellar wouldn't hurt.

One of the finest under-the-radar estates in Pessac-Leognan, Haut-Bergey's 2005 (a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot) offers up aromas of scorched earth, wet stones, burning embers, charcoal, and copious black currant and cherry fruit. Winemaker's Notes:

"Aromas of mineral, blackberry and licorice lead to a full body, with lots of racy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. There's plenty of character, with a polished, refined style, yet tannic. Best after 2011. 9,830 cases made." -JS.Wine Spectator, March 2008
