The name of Château Guiraud, 1st growth in the 1855 classification, dates back to 1766, when Bordeaux wine merchant Pierre Guiraud purchased the "the Noble House of Bayle". Château Guiraud, covering over a hundred hectares of vineyards, is renowned for its natural approach to noble rot (excluding chemical herbicides and insecticides, setting of insect houses, 5 km of bushes plantation, genetic diversity, conservatory vine, natural water treatment, organic farming ) and for the finesse of its sweet wines.
