RP Perfectionist sculptor stonemason, Michel Gracia, is the force behind this wine, which comes closest to imitating the titan of St.-Emilion - Ausone. Cropped at 16 hectoliters per hectare, the black purple-tinged 2006 is a blend of 80% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. It offers a gorgeous perfume of incense, blackberries, blueberries, and cassis, a full-bodied, powerful attack, wonderful purity and precision, sweet tannin, and amazing texture as well as length. Sadly, only 350 or so cases will be produced. One of the vintages most compelling wines, it should age effortlessly for 20-25 years.
