Blackberries, smoke, cassis, smoke, hint of white pepper and other spices, minerals and smoke. Smooth but lightly dusty tannins. Moderate finish with slight aromatic smoke. Went well with brisket.

Still young, but showing well already. Opened about 3 hours before dinner. In the glass the wine kept softening and integrating, showing it will continue to improve. Currant, herb, and bay leaf aromas and palate. Smooth plush tannins.

This was drinking just beautifully last night. Aromas of cassis, plum, bitter herbs, green pepper followed by a beautifully-textured palate of plums and cassis accented by black tea. Will be even better in a few years, I think.
