This wine is as old as I am. The first thing I noticed about this wine was the crystals around the cork. When uncorking, the cork basically fell apart, totally saturated in the wine. Dark purple color with a very aromatic nose. Noted hints of earth and soil that made this wine very memorable. Tannins were very soft but present and the finish lingered. Notable sludge at the bottom of the bottle. Overall this was a fantastic wine to experience.

The first thing I noticed with this wine was the powerful aromas on the nose. Substantial earth was present along with leather and chocolate. The wine felt a little thin at times and may be showing some signs of age at this point. Regardless, the wine was enjoyable with tannins that were present but laid back and a finish that perservered for quite a while.

The 1985 displays fine depth and richness. Deep in color, with a weedy, herbaceous, cedary, black currant bouquet, it offers up a rich mouthful of succulent claret. Drink it over the next decade. Last tasted, 10/90.
