Chateau Gamage Bordeaux Superieur

Winemaker's Notes:

Chateau Gamage as it stands today was restored in the 18th century but its foundations and cellars can be traced back to the 12th century. Usha Lavie's aim when she took over the property was to make her wines outstanding in their appellation. The 36 hectares of vineyards are situated a few kilometers south of Saint émilion and the estate produces an average of 200,000 bottles per annum which are enjoyed by connoisseurs worldwide. Under the guidance of Usha Lavie, Château Gamage produces elegant, supple and full bodied wines predominantly made from Merlot. Vintage: 2005 Grapes: 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc. Vine age: 20 years old Harvesting: By hand Vinification: Fermented in temperature controlled vats followed by ageing in Allier oak barriques. Taste: Supple, round, elegant and well made with fine tannins and an aromatic finish. Will age gracefully. Serve: At room temperature with roast and grilled red meats.
