Château Fourcas Hosten Red Bordeaux Blend Listrac-Médoc 2003

Winemaker's Notes:

This wonderful estate has been recently been taken over by Renaud et Laurent Momméja, members of the Hermès family. The soil is 2/3 Pyrenean gravels and 1/3 clayey-calcareous. The grapes are hand-picked and vinification is in stainless steel vats with temperature control. Ageing is 12 up to 14 months in oak barrels. The wine has an expressive bouquet (smoked, tar, leather and spices). It is powerful, smooth and very rich. It demands a pairing with red meat, spicy dishes or game.
