Château Fort-Lignac:
Very good quality wine! It has fabulous armoa with great depth, structure and length. It is a small property about 25 acres located in Bordeaux Haut Medoc district. It's vineyard is a mixture of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. The predominance of Cabernet is a striking feature of its bouquet and flavour. By now, you’re certainly heard the hype over the spectacular 2009 vintage in Bordeaux. If you’re looking for a wine with more depth and substance than basic Bordeaux AOC but you don’t want to wait another year for the big names to be released (and several more years waiting for them to be approachable!) Château Fort-Lignac represents the perfect middle-ground. This shows a classic Bordeaux nose of sour cherry, tart blueberry, graphite, decaying leaves, smoldering embers and a finish of mineral and espresso. It’s great now but has the balance and weight to age and even improve. Incidentally, this property was bought a few years back by the family that owns Ducru Beaucaillou, Grand Puy Lacoste, and Haut Batailley, so it’s in some good hands! I look forward to following this wine over the next eight years or more.

This wine is characterized by a beautiful purple color. The mid-palate is voluptuous and lingers on a completely elegant finish. There is excellent fruit concentration, with structure and balanced tannins. This is a wine that is delicious to drink today or to lay down for 4–5 years. Pair this with a nice juicy steak and grilled vegetables.

Generous without being too powerful, robust with finesse, and just plain good! 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. Fruit friendly with flavors of blackberries, dark cherries and licorice. The finish is sweet with a gratifying herbal tone.
