Chateau Fontarney Margaux 2003

Member Review by pcarter9:

My first experience with French wine. The color is a medium dark red. The color deepens toward the middle of the glass. The taste is dry and full bodied. The mixture is primarily Cabernet, then Merlot and finally Cabernet Franc. Since I lean toward the dryer wines I was exceptionally pleased with this one. One thing I noticed was that, unlike California wines, the taste of this wine is more subtle. The flavor seems to evolve as the wine travels from the tip of the tongue to the middle. We paired this with Filet Mignon and it was excellent.
