I bought two bottles of this wine from the website www.bidforwine.co.uk/auctions/show/57599 for £16.Saint Emilion is a prestigious appellation on the right bank in the Bordeaux region.Chateau Ferrand-Lartigue is a small [ 5 hectare ] estate funded by a Pierre Ferrand in 1993 although he sold out to the Vitis Vintage group, who also own other Bordeaux properties. The wine consists of 80% merlot and 10% each of cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc, a typical right bank blend, and spends time in oak barrels. I opened my bottle last night with my supper of lamb chops and I did enjoy it. There is a blackcurrant, plum and cherry style fruit there and some well-structured tannins. It had softened up a lot this evening after spending 24 hours open on the table and I thought it a better wine. Perhaps I should have opened it a couple of hours before I decided to cook my lamb chops. Overall though I thought it a good quality wine
