Château Ferrand Lartigue Red Bordeaux Blend St. Émilion Grand Cru 1998

Winemaker's Notes:

A highly regarded garage operation, Ferrand-Lartigue's 1998 exhibits a dark
ruby/purple color as well as a tight but promising, internationally-styled
bouquet of new oak, black fruits, and saddle leather. The wine is medium to
full-bodied, with excellent purity, and clean, rich, concentrated flavors.
Critics might argue that it is too "international," but it is an outstanding
effort.

Louis Mitjavile, Francois's son, has taken over the vinification of this
micro-estate dedicated to producing world-class wines. The 1998 (a blend of 95%
Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc) is his first vintage.
(Robert Parker - Wine Advocate - Issue 134)
