Château Feret-Lambert Grand Vin de Bordeaux 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

89-91 points Robert Parker: Wow! What a big time sleeper of the vintage. This delicious, full-bodied wine behaves more like a classified growth than a generic Bordeaux Superieur. It possesses a dense purple color as well as notes of black raspberries, licorice, graphite, and cassis, wonderful intensity, purity, richness, and overall balance, and a stunning finish. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. (Apr 2010)

Earth licorice and Christmas fruitcake as well as a lush texture make for a very appealing and charming generic Bordeaux. There is slightly more structure here than most of the wines from this humble appellation possess but that is a sign that it is probably capable of lasting more than 1-3 years. This is more proof that Bordeaux can still offer tremendous value. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

This is ripe and polished, with sleek cassis and blackberry fruit framed with toasty mocha and espresso hints, but also nicely grounded in terroir, with a tug of roasted earth and tobacco on the finish. Drink now through 2015. 5,000 cases made Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Feret-Lambert 750ml
