What to Expect

Syrah: One of the few grapes to really be a global success. Syrah combines a meaty core of ripe berry fruit with tones that range from herbal to peppery in a package that tends to be medium bodied with good acidity and softer tannins. With age the wines can gain lovely leathery and black olive notes that make them a great match for savory and gamy dishes.

Winemakers Notes

Dark, dense and full-bodied. Created in the French style, our 2002 Syrah is fruit forward, peppery and lush. Nicely balanced with firm tannins and acidity, the intense plum, blackberry and black cherry flavors linger through the long, polished finish.

Reviews

I admit, I started off on the wrong foot by popping this wine and then starting to drink it a couple minutes later. I could tell things were a little "cramped" in my glass, but as time passed, flavors intensified and in addition to nice fruit I even detected some toffee in there as well which was a pleasant surprise! Let 'er breath and this wine is superb.
