Chateau Edmus Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2007

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Roots, dried leaves, root vegetables, spice, earth and menthol all join together on the savory nose. On entry this is quite smooth and polished, with perky acids floating beneath the surface and nice ripe tannins supporting fresh wild red berry fruit. It’s got a lot of height in the mouth and retains fine focus and freshness from start to finish. The finish is clear and cleansing with a touch of iron and some lingonberry fruit. Combines elegance and rusticity rather deftly with excellent length. 88pts

Beautiful black ruby color. Earthy, loamy on on the nose, giving way to red berries, mocha and tobacco. Slightly spicy on the finish.

Enfin un bordeaux équilibre et ou le bois est fondu pour laisser place a de la structure.

Tasting Notes:

The careful winemaking has a very good expression of fruit. Citing tasting notes...Stephane Crus and passions, "Vanilla nose with hints of toasted brioche and more. It trends towards fruity blackberries with a little strawberry. The finish is slightly peppery."
