Château du Tertre 5ème Grand Cru Classé Margaux 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Berry Bros & Rudd review: The charming Alexander van Beek has made yet another classic wine at Ch. du
Tertre. Soft, light and pretty, this is an elegant Margaux with a rich, silky
red fruit nose and beautiful pure fruit on the palate. Very fine-grained,
almost powdery tannins add to this neat little package which has been made from
the lowest yields for ten years (28hl/ha); a quaffable little beauty.

Eager to get the very best out of his outstanding soils, which are exceptionally homogeneous and recognised as having some of the highest potential in the Margaux appellation, Eric Albada Jelgersma now sees his team rewarded for their efforts. Smoke and bacon aromas announce a wine that is tasting hard at the edges, though with plenty of ripe black berry fruit flavors and wood. Solid, with definite aging potential. R.V. Wine Enthusiast. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2008 Du Tertre 750ml

This property has been making very fine wines, so I was surprised the 2008 Du Tertre did not perform better on the two occasions I tasted it. Judgment reserved. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2008 Du Tertre 750ml
