Chateau du Seuil Graves 2012

Member Review by duncan 906:

I bought this bottle of wine from the website www.bidforwine.co.uk/auctions/show/131850 for only £1 as I was the sole bidder althouigh I did have to pay a delivery charge.Graves is an appellation created in 1937,although there has been viticuilture here since at least the Romans, for dry white and red wines from 44 communes south of the City of Bordeaux.Chateau du Seuil is a family concern with holdings in this area.My bottle consists of 50% cabernet sauvignon,45% merlot and 5% cabernet franc and spent 18 months in oak barrels. I started the bottle last night with my pasta supper. There is plenty of a blackcurrant, plum and cherry style fruit with hints of vanilla and soft but structured tannins. In short, this is a beautiful claret that would match many meals and was also very good value for money

They produce a range of red, white and rose wines.Their proudest day was when their red and white Graves were served at a Royal Welsh Regiment lunch in  Cardiff in 2015 to Her Majesty the Queen.
