Château du Chatelard Fleurie les Vieux Granits 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

After sorting, the partially entire grapes are displayed in vats. Maceration lasts 12 to 16 days in order to extract tannins as well as rich and complex material. A slow, non-aggressive pressing preserves the natural elegance of this wine. Maturation on lees lasts 8 months.

The range offered by the Château de Chatelard centers on 8 ha of Fleurie vines and another 20 ha evenly spread over good vineyard plots in Moulin à Vent, Morgon, Beaujolais Blanc and Beaujolais Villages rouge and Beaujolais. Since its creation after the Fifties, the estate has developed a loyal clientele both nationally internationally. The vineyards are well situated - many were planted before 1955 - and give excellent expression of the unique Beaujolais terroirs. This pretty 18th century château has evolved over time, earning its place among the leading properties of the Beaujolais. Tasting Notes:

Ruby color with purple glints, bright and clear. Intense nose of red fruit and spices, with a superb aromatic balance. On the palate, the attack is neat and straight. The delicate tannins are subtly present and bring structure and intensity supported by greedy matter.
