Nose: Blackberry, dark cherry, plum, cedary oak, earthy, black pepper, spice. Quite rich, almost jammy. Palate: Blackberry jam, plum, dark cherry, cedary oak. Firm, oaky drying, dusty tannins. Quite rich and earthy. Moderately long on the palate.
After being open for three days, the jamminess has gone, and the oakiness has subsided a little. The cherry, plum notes remain, and the wine seems to have become more earthy/barnyardy. The tannins have softened a little too.
