Food Pairings for Château du Bousquet Red Bordeaux Blend Côtes de Bourg
good humoured, tart and young; decant to breathe - a solid year showing subtle promise, hints of fruits of the forest, and a surprisingly fresh nose, not sure it's quite vanilla yet. Nice balance on the tannins though - so far so good; one to watch, but who knows where it will end up - I shall be looking out for a slightly maturer older brother. Bronze Medal concours general agricole 2008.

I bought this bottle of wine a while ago from the website www.bidforwine.co.uk/auctions/show/21042 for under a fiver but have only now got around to drinking it.It had come from a house clearance.Chateau du Bosquet is in the Cotes de Bourg appellation, the area around the town of Bourg about 12 miles north-west of the city of Bordeaux. This appellation was originally intended to be part of the new Cotes de Bordeaux appellation in 2009 but this never happened.Chateau Bousquet is made up of 45% merlot,45% cabernet sauvignon and 10% malbec and is aged in oak barrels.I was pleasantly surprised by this wine as it did not really show its age.having very soft tannins, tasting mellow vwith plenty of fruit [think raspberries and cherries]It had obviously been well-cellared as the level was at the upper shoulder/lower neck area and the bottom half of the cork was sodden with wine.It was better than the last claret I had the Chateau Pitray

Dark red color with purple highlights. Powerful and peppery with notes of cherries and caramel. Medium bodied with a clean finish.
