Château d'Issan Red Bordeaux Blend Margaux 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

Made from tiny yields (25hl/ha) due to the ravages of a hail storm early in the
year, Ch Issan's 2009 is beautifully succulent with intensely
concentrated bramble fruit, fine minerality and absolutely melting tannins.
Elegant and charming but very sexy at the same time, this has a delicious
freshness and purity that add harmony and balance. Wonderful.

Following the lustrous 2000 and 2005, the 2009 is another terrific effort from proprietor Emmanuel Cruse. Tiny yields of 18 hectoliters per hectare, 13.7% natural alcohol, and a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Merlot have resulted in a wine b... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
