Château Desmirail:
Jean  Desmirail founded the estate at the end of the 17th century and his descendants owned it until the middle of the 19th century. Mr Sipiere,the manager at Chateau Margaux was Desmirail°s owner at the time of the 1855 classification when it became a third growth. Robert Mendelssohn,nephew of the famous composer, became the owner of the chateau in 1905.  Martial Michel, a qlove manufacturer,  owned it from 1923 to 1938 but he sold it to Chateau Palmer and it was bought in1980 by  Lucien Lurton who is from a well known wine making family In 1992, at the aqe of 33, Denis Lurton, Lucien°s son, took over the running of Desmirail.There are 30 hectares under vine.
