Chateau d'Esclans Whispering Angel Rose 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

This has become one of the "must have" Roses from Provence, and the beautifully shaped bottled has made it a customer favorite! Sacha Lichine, son of the renowned Alexis, hasn't ceased to combine his talent and wine-making know-how and so has given a *new dimension to Provence Rosé*. Look for ripe red fruits, with hints of minerals and flowers. The fine expression of minerality on the nose, crisp dry palate, bright strawberries on the finish. This delicious bottle is a perfect, easy-quaffing wine for lunch, dinner or a delicious glass anywhere.

This lovely rose wine has a racey nose of acidic red cranberry and even strawberry sugar; the entry is balanced, if slightly bitter, with more strawberry on the medium finish. A superior rose with a rare gravity of character. Let's say 90 points...

Beautiful pale pink color. Raspberry and toast on the nose, strawberry on palate. Nice weight - light but not too thin. Lightly tingling acidity on the finish. Better as a solo sipper than a dinnertime drink due to slightly higher alcohol level.

A delightfully clean and fruity wine, the epitome of Provence rosé. It has fresh acidity, crisp lemon and red currant fruit and just a light sprinkling of spice.

One of our favorite French rosés, the Whispering Angel evokes sensations of strawberries, violets and soft melon on the nose and palate. Focused acidity and light floral notes temper the vibrant fruit flavors, resulting in a rosé that is well-balanced and complex, yet light and refreshing.

Pretty light pink color. Serious stuff for a rose. Lots of peach and rozes with some minerality and a silky mouthfeel. The finish particularly impressive for a rose, it keeps lingering for minutes. Great with grilled scampi!

Don’t let the color fool you, as this pale salmon-colored wine packs loads of flavor: creamed red peach, glazed citrus fruits and hints of herbs and spice. An upscale take on traditional Provence rosé. Very classy.
