Chateau des Karantes Diamond Diamont Cuvte la Clape 2005

Member Review by jtryka:

A very nice red from the south of France, bold flavor and a velvety feel, perfect for sipping in the evening or enjoying with a hearty meal. When I first met the winemaker and tried it at a tasting in 2008, you could almost feel the warm breeze off the Mediterranean as you sipped! The wine is somewhat expensive, but well worth it from an underappreciated region.

Domaine des Karantes:
Standing on one of the foothills within Karantes you can see in one direction the Mediterranean which brings gentle sea breezes that blow over the vines. In the other direction, you can see the famous Clape Mountain for which the region is named. Farther in the distance you can see the Pyrenees Mountains with its snow capped peaks. Enjoy this wine with light meals or on its own, and imagine yourself lost in this French paradise.
