Château de Puligny-Montrachet Bourgogne Blanc Clos du Chateau 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

From the walled vineyard right in front of the Château inside the village of Puligny-Montrachet, this over-achieving Bourgogne Blanc is stellar year in and year out. It definitely shows the floral and mineral notes in the nose that make the village famous. Good length and buttery, citrus fruit make this a great wine at any price, but this little wine from an estate with an embarrassing array of riches can stand up to the best of them. 88 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): Bright, pale yellow. Mirabelle, lemon oil and smoky oak on the nose. Sweet, concentrated stone fruit and pineapple flavors are seriously ripe and powerful for Bourgogne Blanc. Finishes with excellent length.

The Carillon Family have been making wine in Puligny Montrachet since the 16th century, using traditional methods to create wines that fully represent the terroir of the vineyards. The whites are barrel fermented and barrel aged and there is a small per cent of new oak used, but don't expect it to overwhelm.

Gaumen: kraftvoller Wein.
