Château de Pez Red Bordeaux Blend St. Estèphe 2010
Earthy and even a little poopy on the nose with smoky shale tones and hints of green peppercorn accenting the subtlely sweet black fruit – nice and chunky on entry, fine balance with soft tannins and integrated acids in balance with the nicely intense ripe fruit, nice purity to the fruit, not big on the backend but shows good length (89-90)Add winemaker's notes

The Chateau de Pez 2007 is a little simple on the nose with notes of tar, dark berries and cold tea. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy red-berried fruit, a dash of white pepper, cedar and tobacco.
Wine & Spirits ReviewRated 90Delicate florals surround the firm red berry flavors of this wine. The tannins are gravelly and the fruit is fresh, lingering with a gentle persistence and adding silkiness. This should be ready to enjoy around six years from the vintage.Wine Tasting NotesThe vintage is dense in color, retaining a purplish-blue hint typical of wines that are slow to develop. The slightly toasty nose has plenty of red- and black- berry fruit and a hint of jamminess mingled with aromas of spice and tobacco. The nose is reminiscent of the 2004 vintage and is what you would expect of a wine made from very ripe grapes. It is already deliciously complex. The palate is entirely consistent with the nose. The attack is still firm at this stage but developing in a manner that instantly suggests an opulent wine. Good, well-rounded substance lingers elegantly on the palate, with silky tannins and not a trace of harshness. This is truly an exceptional wine: thoroughbred, elegant and rich.
This Chteau is located in the northern parts of the commune of Saint-Estphe. This red Bordeaux boasts intense dark berries - currants especially - and moderate spice. The tannins are approachable making this a fine Bordeaux to drink immediately.
...hints of red currants, herbs, and damp earth, this wine is medium-bodied, lean, competently made, but relatively unexciting. Drink it over the next 4-5 years... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2002 De Pez 375ml
