The grapes are grown on the sunny hillsides of the Cabardès at 700 - 1000 ft above sea level, with views of the Pyrenees, Massif Central and the Medieval town of Carcassonne. The wines are produced as traditional regional reds, whites, rosés and a late harvest dessert wine in the Alsace style. The main grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Grenache, Malbec (Cot), Cabernet Franc and Cinsault for reds. Whites are produced from Chardonnay, Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussane and Sauvignon Blanc. These are released as blends as well as single varietal styles.  Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

I love Côtes du Rhône. They are classics untouched by oak overdrive. I paid $14.45 CAD for it at the SAQ. The $7.78 USD price above bugs me. Truth be told SAQ workers are unionized and get a great deal of training, so we pay a little for that. The dry cherry "robe" (colour) is pleasing to the eye. I used to have a silk night gown of the exact same tint which made me feel like Hugh Hefner. The tannins are much present but still harmonious. This wine could bear to age a little. Aromas of pepper and berries. Alcohol too present for my tastes. All and all a correct every day wine. Would accompany with turkey or light meat.

A great value for an "every day" wine, and a good introduction to French wine. Ready to drink now, but previous review is correct-could age a bit.
