Nice golden color. Citrus blossoms, honey, flint, and stone fruit on the nose with a crisp palate of peach, grapefruit, and mineral overlaid with the essence (but not the sweetness) of honey. This is a very dry, medium bodied wine that finishes long and rather silky. Delicious.

Ruby appearance, medium-bodied, slightly dry finish. Faint ambergris on the nose. I tasted notes of buttery pastry tartlet crusts, stewed figs and berries, beets and just a hint of copper. I had this wine with a chicken quesadilla...not an optimal pairing. I think I would have appreciated this wine far more on a crisp, late summer/early fall night with a savory soup.....I look forward to trying that.

This wine is good and typical Rhone. Very good with Japanese food like Teriyaki, Yakitori, or Unagi which using soy-sauce based sweet sauce. These type of sauce are very good matching with good Rhone wine.

Great Rhone wine. The blend of several Rhone varietals all from older vines adds some nice complexity. Good structure, came back to it after a few hours, still really nice.

90 Points - Wine Spectator "Very solid, with a juicy core of blackberry and plum woven with cocoa and pastis hints. The smoky, spicy finish has nice length. Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Mourvdre and Counoise. Drink now through 2010." 4,580 cases made. -Jun 15, 2009winemaker's notes:Still muscular, with blackberry and black currant fruit, black tea, graphite and espresso notes that all meld together nicely on the lengthy finish. Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Carignan, Counoise & Mourvdre.

Winemaker's Notes:

The notes in the nose are full of in- tense red fruit - raspberries, cherries and blackcurrant - with hints of peppery and floral notes of violettes. The mouthfeel is suave and round finishing with silky tannins. The floral aromas give an aerien dimension to the wine. This wine is very versatile, it will easily accompany poultry and meat dishes. If you keep some bottles in your cellar, you will be surprised by the aging poten- tial of the wine ; it developpes aromas and finesse that are amazingly similar to some Burgundy wines.
