Lovely and fresh, this wine is chock full of brisk, flowery acidity and lovely fresh picked apple flavors. There is a pronounced mineral dimension to this wine, which sets the stage nicely for its autumn-fresh fruit flavors and aromas.
After the phylloxera infestation destroyed much of the wine world, this was one of the last areas to be replanted, in 1978. The lively, vibrant youth shows in the glass. Rich, earthy tones on the nose resemble the ancient limestone soils of this Burgundy region. With notes of apricots and lemons and a pure, silky-smooth finish, this Chablis creates lip-smacking freshness from beginning to end! It will pair excellently with your favorite seafood and poultry dishes.
Consistently producing affordable, traditionally-styled Chablis, Malignyrsquo;s Premier Cru Vau de Vey strikes me as an excellent match for soft, slightly earthy triple cream brie. There is an earthiness to the wine amidst the apple skin, lemon custard flavors that lends this white a chewy, complex texture. Concentrated, with slow legs on the side of the glass mdash; a lipsmacking, mineral-rich Chardonnay.
Silky smooth, packed with vibrant acidity, layered with pear, mineral, stone and lemon flavors that come across as both powerful and subtle.
This old-vine gem may be one of the best values in Chablis, with ripe fruit, offering melon, green apple and pear flavors, and crisp acidity.
"Old vine" Chardonnay from a great producer and a profound vintage. Razor-sharp and lean, displaying classic mineral, quartz and vibrant acidity interwoven among green apples and pear.
Wines made from older vines ("vieilles vignes" in French) benefit from longer roots that draw up more nutrients and flavor. Look for classic Chablis minerality in the core, surrounded by notes of fresh pineapple, Asian pear, and delicate floral aromas.
