Château de Macard Red Bordeaux Blend Bordeaux Supérieur 2009

Fantastic superieur with an equally impressive price. I bought this bottle to drink now but would do good with some age. I will probably buy another bottle or two to age. Young Bordeaux aroma of red fruits (cherry and raspberry) and slight touch of tobacco. Hints of red fruits continue on the palate mixed with more defined blackberry and slight black current. Medium tannins that are still a little young. Worth drinking now but will do will in a few years. Great introductory Bordeaux for those interested.

Very bright acid and fairly astringent tannins - needs to age more. Dark fruits quite understated, notes of tobacco, licorice, very subtle smoke, earty spices.

Served this wine at a dinner party and everyone loved it. Well balanced with nice acidity and medium tannins. Notes of dark fruit, including plum, blackberry, and hint of cassis. Some earth and tobacco on a nice medium the finish. Very enjoyable (and even more so when considering the price!)

Nice mineral dried nose of dark red and black berry fruit. Some roasty, earthy qualities with dried leaves and hints of emerging funk with swirling. Strong acid on the palate. Gives it a bite and could mislead folks that it's got high alcohol. This will let it age a few years nicely and also integrates it well with food. Stony minerality over dark berry fruit, heavy in currant and cassis. Notes of espresso and bitter chocolate. Lingers nicely with cassis liquer and hints of licorice. 86 pts 9/7/12

My Rating 89: Nice Bordeaux, very balanced and elegant with a long nose. Unusually for a Superieur. Got this at Costco in Orlando
