Food Pairings for Chateau de Launay Bordeaux Superieur
External Reviews for Chateau de Launay Bordeaux Superieur
Wine Advocate ReviewThis used to be an insipid, occasionally decent generic Bordeaux that sold for a song. The 2003 is something else altogether. The renowned Tuscan oenologist, Stefano Chioccioli, is working here, and yields in 2003 were an amazingly low 12 hectoliters per hectare. A blend of 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, it is a dense purple-colored effort offering notes of chocolate, espresso, scorched earth, and berry flavors. Supple textured, medium-bodied, chunky, and fleshy, it should drink well for 4-5 years. Drink 2004 - 2009.
