Food Pairings for Chateau de la Roulerie les Camélias Rosé Loire
Editorial Reviews for Chateau de la Roulerie les Camélias Rosé Loire
Delicate and with an almost vegetal floral note on the nose over spicy, astringent red berry fruit that shows a hint of juniper. A bit obviously sweet in the mouth with plenty of balancing acidity to make the orange edged red cherry and lightly plummy fruit rather attractive. The finish shows sweetness but it's balanced by a lovely vein of bitter orange/ blood orange peel that really keeps this lively. Easy to drink on it's own and a wonderful match for lightly spicy food. 88pts
This is smoky and spicy on the nose with a nice tobacco edge to the dark berry fruit. Noticeably sweet, but at the same time with a supportive spice of acidity. This is plump and juicy with cranberry and strawberry fruit. The herbal element here adds some nice complexity and the fruit turns all sweet and watermelon-like on the moderately long, somewhat sticky finish. This needs spicy Asian-influenced food to show its best. 86pts
beautiful hot pink color, fruit forward nose of raspberries, strawberries, watermelon, and cherries. very fruity, almost good for a dessert. OR great with thai spicy food/curry...
Big ripe red fruit on the nose... very ripe strawberries on the palate, followed by an interesting burnt caramel finish... prolly why many call this CANDY! For me, a great apertif or sipper... beware... easy to overchill or underchill.... very small window of optimal temperature IMO.
New to the rose game. This one was a little to sweet for me. Maybe I had my mind set that it was going to be to sweet. Good flavor profile of strawberry and cherry and very refreshing.
Light and refreshing crisp rose.
The nose was reticent with hints of cherry and sweet florals. On the palate, it showed a great balance of sweet versus tart with enough acidity to keep it juicy and clean. Flavors of rhubarb and hints of medicinal cherry formed up on the palate and gave way to lingering notes of hard candy on the finish.
This wine is pure fun. Great aroma, earthy and fruity, with a hint of asparagus. Definitely on the sweet side. Good as an aperitif.
Salty sweet caramel on the nose. Dark berry when poured. Red berry fruit with hints of darker fruit. It's pretty sweet on the palate with a fairly thick mouthfeel. Lingonberry. Candy notes. It lingers long and is more decadent than refreshing. Weak acid. Lacks balance for me. Well suited for dessert. 6/20/12
