What to Expect

Brunello is a clone of Tuscany's Sangiovese grape that is grown in and around the village of Montalcino. This clone produces the deepest, darkest, richest version of Sangiovese, redolent of violets, damp earth, dark cherry and leather with a gentle blend of spice and herb. The acidity is high and while the grape can be considered tannic it is generally well balanced, highlighting the dark cherry and plum fruit and deep contrasting notes of earth and spice.
