Château de Haute-Serre Malbec Blend Cahors 2006

External Review by Bowery And Vine:

Deep ruby robe that is always clear and shiny. In addition to the, often candied, red fruit are nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and roasted bean aromas from new barrels. On the palate the tannins are velvety, very refined and dense.

Château de Haute-Serre:
From an old Lot line, working for over a century in the wine business the Vigouroux family has gained frame thanks to know-how that is transmitted between the generations.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Of France's "country wines" no appellation produces a more robust and age-worthy red than the Southwest's Cahors. This velvety beauty is just now blossoming with black fruit, herbal and mineral flavors blending in a long, toasty finish.
