Château de Haute-Serre Malbec Blend Cahors 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

A fantastically well made wine at a super price. Dark red in colour with aromas of blackcurrants, black pepper and violets. The palate is full bodied and full of tannin; great ageing potential.

Château de Haute-Serre:
From an old Lot line, working for over a century in the wine business the Vigouroux family has gained frame thanks to know-how that is transmitted between the generations.

Of France's "country wines" no appellation produces a more robust and age-worthy red than the Southwest's Cahors. This velvety beauty is just now blossoming with black fruit, herbal and mineral flavors blending in a long, toasty finish.
