Château de Gaudou Cuvée Renaissance Cahors 2009

Member Review by jamessulis:

A blend of Malbec, Merlot and Tannat grapes. from southwest France, the Cahors region has a reputation for its "black wines". This wine is the most complex I have ever had. It needs breathing or decanting to release it's full potential. Dark purple almost black color, aromatic of currant and coconut on the smell finish. Cherry, extreme pepper and toasty beefy taste. This is a wine for sipping, not drinking as it is very concentrated. Tannins vibrant with a long finish. This wine will age well and I'm sure if it were cellared it would be even better 5 years from now.

The most beautiful hillsides gently attracting the sun which enable the sloping vineyard to drink in the sunshine and embracing the grapes with its warmth. Read less
