Chateau de Gaudou Cahors 2010

Member Review by JasonMM:

A deep purple/ruby Malbec with a briny, blackberry, plum, black cherry pits, dried rose petals and soft spices, some faint earthy, animal notes on the nose. Palate sees follow through of everything on the nose except the animal/earth notes. Also has green pepper, cracked black pepper, vanilla with strong tannins and moderate acid. Has an unexpected long finish. V good.

The Cahors vineyards, approx 4000 hectares superbly isolated, at a equal distance between the Atlantic, the Pyrenees, and the Mediterranean, a breathtaking valley that follows the curves of the winding Lot river 2000 years of rich history of the wine of Cahors which obtained the distinction A.O.C 30 years ago. The most beautiful hillsides gently attracting the sun which enable the sloping vineyard to drink in the sunshine and embracing the grapes with its warmth. Read less
