Chateau de France Pessac Leognan 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

This is a dreamed year for every winegrower. The ideal weather conditions linked to the know-how of Malartic-Lagraviere staff allowed to drive tactfully and cleverly this vintage 2009, which unveils its potential day after day. After relatively late fermentations, the wines in barrels have been growing and keep on surprising us. They are wonderfully silky, with a beautiful structure...So elegant. A great vintage. Definitely.

Subtle toasted brioche and blanched almond notes hold a core of heather, white peach, and green plum at bay for now. This finish is long and suave, with nice buried cut. Should blossom with brief cellaring. Drink now through 2014. 1,250 cases made. -... Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blanc wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Malartic-Lagraviere Blanc 750ml

80% sauvignon blanc 20% semillon. Aromas of salt air and minerals mix with notes of tart citrus as well as a hint of white pineapple. A bright high-acid release typical of the white wines from this property a worthy accomplishment considering the heat experienced by the domaine that summer. One of the better whites from the vintage. Alex Shaw.
