Château de Fonbel Red Bordeaux Blend St. Émilion Grand Cru 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

A sleeper of the vintage from the perfectionist proprietor of Chateau Ausone,Alain Vauthier, this elegant St.-Emilion offers up scents of lead pencilshavings intermixed with blueberries, black currants, and boysenberries, andplenty of minerality. This 2006 should drink nicely for 10-12 years. Goodvalue. (Robert Parker - Wine Advocate- Feb 09)

Good ruby-red. Brooding aromas of cassis, blackberry, violet, dark chocolate, minerals and menthol. Juicy and youthfully tight, with a firm spine of acidity giving this rather serious wine a slightly tart side. But this has the intensity and backbone... Stephen Tanzer's IWC. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2006 Fonbel 750ml

Inky black core surrounded by a bright fuchsia rim. This wine is very gamy on the nose with great smoky, brambly dark red fruit aromas. Rich on the palate with bright acid up front. Lush and sweet on the mid-palate with raspberry and strawberry note... Mike Supple. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2006 Fonbel 750ml
