- There has been a reorganization of sorts within the Rodet group of wines because the Devillard family has elected to take direct control of the various domaines it owns. This will not really result in any major changes though some of the oenological consulting arrangements will alter as will the distribution agreements. For example, as I understand it, head oenologist Nadine Gublin will now be involved only with the Rodet properties and not with the Devillard domaines. To wit, Rodet owns outright the Château de Rully, the Château de Mercey and the Domaine de l'Aigle. It co-owns Domaine read more...Jacques Prieur and is involved now only in the distribution of Domaines des Perdrix, the Château de Chamirey and the Domaine de la Ferté Note that all of the domaines with the exception of the Domaine de l'Aigle and Domaine Jacques Prieur are reviewed herein. (Frederick Wildman, New York, NY). Whites: Note: a monopole of the domaine This is slightly finer in all respects with more elegance and more sophisticated tannins but less concentrated and less powerful, underpinned by very ripe tannins and impressive complexity, all wrapped in a textured, delicious and persistent finish. This is quite different from the Clos du Roi in personality and character but qualitatively speaking, it's a jump ball. (hide)
