Chateau de Campuget Invitation White 2012

External Review by Great Wines Direct:

Costieres de Nimes, the easternmost appellation of the Languedoc, is effectively part of the Rhone since the climate, soil and topography are so similar to those just over the river in the southern Cotes-du-Rhone vineyards. The relatively uniform soils are marked by large pebbles on gentle, typically south-facing slopes. Chateau de Campuget is a top quality estate near Nimes with a long history. In its cellar, tradition and progress unite to provide aroma, finesse and bouquet. Chateau de Campuget deploys a wide range of traditional Rhone cepage to produce full, easy and spicy wines. Grapes : 60% Roussanne, 30% Grenache blanc and 10% Marsanne Region : France / Rhone/ Costieres de Nimes AOC Maker : Franck Lin Dalle/Christophe Dhennin Notes : Traditional Rhone grape varietals make this a spicy, full and fruity wine with mineral tones. Serve : At 14c, it is the perfect summertime wine with fresh salads or with a barbecue. It is also excellent with grilled red peppers, with the olive oil from Campuget. ABV : 13%

Château de Campuget:
Since 1941 our only aim has been to produce great Rhône Valley wines whilst respecting our terroir and our identity. The rounded pebbles of the Rhône, the Southern sun, the Mistral, the emblematic grapes from the Rhône Valley : Syrah, Grenache, Viognier – these are the fundamental elements that define the identity of Campuget.
