Chateau Barbe Blanche is an exceptional Right Bank Bordeaux property owned by the incomparable Andre Lurton. 68 acres planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon that have matured outstandingly to an average of 30 years of age. In 2009 everything came together and this wine expresses it beautifully. A blend of 65% Merlot, 25% Cab Franc and 10% Cab Sauvignon was aged 12 months in 50% new oak barrels. The Wine Spectator said "Raspberry, blackberry and currant flavors pump along, with toasty vanilla and spice notes filling in on the medium-weight, juicy finish. There's a nice tarry flash on the finish."
